Our mind always picks up the paintings according to the artists rather than the painting itself. Research has shown that we tend to value paintings with our mind rather than with our eyes. If someone is shown a painting that is not well known that person may not value it greatly even if it was done by a very famous artist(as long as the person does not know the artist). But as soon as the creator is revealed it may force an altogether different perspective and reaction. Thus proving that our mind plays a more active part while proving the worth of a painting than what our heart finds aesthetically beautiful. Thus it maybe recorded that the value of any painting should not be just attributed to the fame of the creator but to the creativity shown in that particular painting and how the colours and shapes give proper judgement to the artist's imagination.

Is Our View on Art Biased?
